VMWare

Keyboard doens't work in a cloned VM

After cloning a windows 7 System from a working Lenovo W510 laptop, the started Virtual Machine did not have a working keyboard and the system was extremly slow.
After logging in with the OnScreenKeyboard, I deinstalled the synaptics UltaNav Driver, which is in the VM no longer needed and hints in the web mentioned this as the base reason why mouse und keyboard may not work. Unfortunatelly after the reboot the keyboard still didn't work, speed got a bit better.
Another tip tells something about installing the VMWare tools (which did not start automatically, but via execute installer in the virtual CDROM drive of the VM) and change the drivers with one out of these tools, but there was nothing related to keyboard nor mouse, but at least the speed got better.

Finally the below article brought me to the right direction, but I had to remove the "SynTP" entry in the UpperFilter for the keyboard.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
